So, Sims 3 for the Wii is pissing me off...

Admittedly, I haven't played TS for the Wii nearly as much as I played it for PC. I just can't get into it as much. It seems like it takes twice as long to do anything, due to the lack of ability to stack tasks up, because I HAVE TO WALK MY SIM OVER TO EVERY FUCKING OBJECT TO GET THE DIALOG. This is ridiculous, and really turns me off from even starting the game. If I start it, I'm going to dedicate at least 2 hours. You can't get shit done in 2 hours on the Wii version, maybe just over a week in Sim-time. I guess this gives the game "staying-power", but it detracts from the playability.

Anyway, whatever. In honor of the original PC sims3, here is a link to an updated nude patch/censor remover. Read the directions, remove any older patches first.

Been Awhile...

So lots of stuff has been happening/happened, causing me to all but abandon this blog. However, I'm back again, coinciding with the release of Sims 3 for the consoles, specifically the Wii. I have just began playing and so far, I like some of the new-to-console (and same for PC) features. However, the motion is a pain in the ass. You have to direct your Sim to each object to perform actions and using the Wiimote to highlight/act is awkward compared to a mouse. Perhaps I'll get better at it.
I started the game by buying the the houseboat. After I got done furnishing it (sparsely..) I was bankrupt. I have taken the Rockstar career path to match my vicarious living via Simlife and so far my career has apexed at updating the band's blog. Of course, saving the Simoleons necessary to buy a guitar is somewhat necessary to promotion.

One thing that hasn't changed is it's ability to make hours disappear in a flash...

Choosing the gender of your Sim offspring...

I have it on good authority that eating foods containing watermelon all but guarantees that your Sim-mother-to-be will have a little girl. Eating foods containing apples all but guarantees the opposite.

Note: Lots of different meals contain either watermelon or apples: French toast may contain fruits, Fruit Parfait (apples), Eggs Machiavellian (watermelon), etc. Also, depending on your Sims' favorite foods, they may make other dishes with apples, including pancakes, PB+J, and cobbler.

Stock your fridges wisely! If only it was this easy in real life...

Download and save this file into your Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves folder and load "Fresh Mountain" from the main menu.

All currently known Sims 3 Cheat Commands

Many of these are the same or similar to Sims 2, here you go!

During the game, press and hold CTRL, SHIFT and C to open up the cheats command box, then enter the following codes to activate the desired cheat.

Motherlode
Adds 50,000 simoleons to your funds.

Kaching
Adds 1,000 simoleons to your funds.

Moveobjects on
Allows you to move objects which are not possible to move during open gameplay. The code Moveobjects off will return this setting to normal.

fullscreen [off]
Allows you to play The Sims 3 in a window. The code fullscreen [on] will return the game to full-screen mode.

jokePlease
A random joke will be displayed in the cheats command box.

fadeObjects [off]
Prevents objects from fading when the game camera gets closer. The code fadeObjects [on] will return the setting to normal.

unlockOutfits [on]
Enter this code before using Create-A-Sim to unlock all service and career uniforms to be usable. The code unlockOutfits [off] will return this setting to normal.

fps [on]
Your games frames-per-second rate will be displayed in the corner of your screen. The code fps [off] will return this setting to normal.

hideHeadlineEffects [on]
This will hide thought and speech bubbles. The code hideHeadlineEffects [off] will return this setting to normal.

resetSim [forename] [surname]
This will send the specified Sim to their home in a neutral state.

constrainFloorElevation [false]
Allows you to raise or lower the ground with objects and walls on it. The code constrainFloorElevation [true] will return this setting to normal.

disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on]
This will prevent objects from snapping to grid-lines when the ALT key is held. The code disableSnappingToSlotsOnAll [off] will return this setting to normal

Sims 3 Leaked..

Well, we've all heard that Sims 3 retail was leaked. I'm not going to tell you how to find that, nor tell you that even if you do find/download/play it, you should certainly go buy it on the release date! Support the developers of the games we love!

However, I ran across a few add-ons that may be helpful, a new money trainer, which describes the new Simoleon strategy (and maybe a few hints on "optimizing" it :), a general pack (which I am told includes a TON of objects that didn't make it to the technical release) (Addon pack nuked by EA, i'll post it as soon as I can find a reliable link), and a censor patch..
